“I came to Jacob's well at noon to draw water, and a Jewish man asked me for a drink. I asked how he, a Jew, could ask a Samaritan woman for water. He spoke of living water, so that whoever drinks it will never thirst. Then he told me about my own life: I had had five husbands, and the man I had now was not my husband. When I spoke of the coming Messiah, he said, "I that speak unto thee am he." I left my waterpot and went into the city: "Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?" Many believed. He knew my whole story, and he still offered me living water.”
