Proverbs 3:5-6
Open in Bible Reader"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
One of the hardest things God asks us to do is trust Him in the waiting. We live in a world that values speed, instant results, and immediate answers. But God often works in the waiting — shaping us, refining us, and preparing us for what is ahead.
Proverbs 3:5-6 is one of the most beloved promises in all of scripture, but it comes with a condition: trust with ALL your heart. Not half. Not when it is convenient. All of it. And the second part is equally challenging: lean NOT on your own understanding.
Our human minds want to figure everything out. We want to see the whole plan, know every step, and control the outcome. But God says: submit your ways to Me, and I will make your paths straight. Not always the shortest path, not always the easiest path, but the right path.
If you are in a season of waiting today — waiting for an answer, a breakthrough, a healing, or a direction — know that God has not forgotten you. He is working in ways you cannot yet see. Trust Him. Lean into Him. And watch Him straighten your path.
Prayer: Lord, I trust You with all my heart, even when I do not understand what You are doing. Help me to stop leaning on my own limited understanding and to submit every part of my life to You. I trust Your timing. Amen.
