John 14:3
Open in Bible Reader"And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."
Our Lord's promise to return is the blessed hope of the church. He did not say "perhaps I will come" or "I may return someday." He said, with the full authority of divine certainty, "I will come again." And the purpose of His coming is breathtaking in its tenderness: to receive you unto Himself, that where He is, you may be also.
Heaven is not primarily about golden streets or pearly gates — it is about being with Jesus. The heart of the promise is not the place He is preparing but the Person who is preparing it. He wants you with Him. The King of kings, the Lord of lords, the Alpha and Omega — He wants you by His side for all eternity. What love is this!
As this day closes and you look toward the night, let this promise lift your gaze beyond the horizon of this passing world. Jesus is coming again. Every sunset brings us one day closer. Every evening is one step nearer to the morning that will never end. Until that day, live in hope, serve with joy, and keep your lamp burning. The Bridegroom is on His way.
