Philippians 2:15
Open in Bible Reader"That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world."
Stars are only visible in darkness. You cannot see them at midday; they reveal their glory only when the sky grows dark. So it is with the children of God. In a crooked and perverse generation, the genuine faith and quiet goodness of a true believer shines with an unmistakable brilliance that the world cannot ignore.
You may feel that your light is small, that your influence is negligible, that you are just one person in a vast and darkening world. But consider the star — small, distant, yet visible for miles on a dark night. Your consistent faith, your gentle words, your honest dealings, your patient endurance — these things shine more brightly than you know.
As this evening settles in, take comfort in the knowledge that God has placed you exactly where He wants you to shine. You are not in your neighbourhood, your workplace, or your family by accident. You are a star set in the sky by the hand of God, and your light — however small it may seem — is making the darkness a little less dark. Keep shining, dear believer. The world needs your light.
