2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Open in Bible Reader"Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble."
God is called many things in Scripture, but here Paul gives Him a title of surpassing tenderness: the God of all comfort. Not some comfort, not occasional comfort, but all comfort. Every true consolation that has ever reached a weary soul has its origin in Him. He is the fountain from which every stream of mercy flows.
But notice the purpose of this comfort: it is not merely for our own relief, but that we may become instruments of comfort to others. God does not waste our pain. Every trial you endure, every sorrow you bear, every tear you shed is preparing you to minister to someone else who will walk a similar path. Your suffering is being transformed into a ministry.
If you are in a season of tribulation this morning, take heart. The God of all comfort is with you, and He is producing something beautiful through your pain. And when the day comes that you encounter another soul walking through the same valley, you will have something priceless to offer: not empty platitudes, but genuine comfort born from your own experience of God's faithfulness.
