The apostle John, exiled on the island of Patmos, received a series of visions from the risen Christ. He wrote the book of Revelation, the final book of the Bible, containing messages to seven churches and prophetic visions of the end times, the final judgment, and the new heaven and new earth.
Revelation completes the biblical story that began in Genesis. It assures believers that despite persecution and evil, Christ will return, justice will prevail, and God will make all things new. The Bible ends with the promise: "Come, Lord Jesus."
