Transfiguration

c. AD 29

Life of Christ New Testament

What Happened

Jesus took Peter, James, and John up a high mountain where He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun and His garments became white as light. Moses and Elijah appeared, and the Father's voice affirmed Jesus as His Son.

Biblical Significance

The Transfiguration revealed Jesus' divine glory and confirmed He was greater than Moses (the Law) and Elijah (the Prophets). It was a foretaste of His resurrection glory and the coming kingdom.
