c. AD 30

Life of Christ New Testament

What Happened

On the night before His crucifixion, Jesus shared a final Passover meal with His disciples. He washed their feet, instituted the Lord's Supper with bread and wine representing His body and blood, and gave the new commandment to love one another.

Biblical Significance

The Last Supper transformed the Passover into the Lord's Supper, connecting the old covenant deliverance with the new covenant sealed in Christ's blood. Jesus, the true Passover Lamb, gave His disciples a perpetual memorial of His sacrifice.
