Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem

c. AD 30

Life of Christ New Testament

What Happened

Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey's colt as crowds waved palm branches and shouted "Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!" This fulfilled Zechariah's prophecy of a humble king coming to Zion.

Biblical Significance

The Triumphal Entry fulfilled Zechariah's prophecy precisely and presented Jesus publicly as the Messianic King. His weeping over Jerusalem revealed His heart for a city that would soon reject its Savior.
